Paul McCartney Will Get Back to Orlando’s Camping World Stadium in May 2022

Get ready to sing some silly love songs. Sir Paul McCartney is playing at Orlando’s Camping World Stadium on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 8 p.m.

The show, part of his “Got Back Tour,” marks the artist’s first Orlando show in almost 10 years and his first Camping World Stadium show since 1993. The tour’s name refers to the classic Beatles song “Get Back” and to the promise he made to fans to tour again after his 2018-2019 “Freshen Up” tour ended.

Attending the concert? You can expect a night packed with pop-rock hits from the musician’s Beatles, Wings, and solo catalogs.

Paul McCartney: Six Decades of Renowned Music

Paul McCartney grew up in Liverpool, England. His father, a jazz musician and bandleader, encouraged him to pursue music from an early age. McCartney received a trumpet from his father on his 14th birthday. By then, however, the teenager had fallen in love with rock ‘n’ roll music. With his father’s permission, he traded the trumpet for his first guitar.

The next year, he joined John Lennon’s band, the Quarrymen, as their rhythm guitarist. A few lineup and name changes ensued. By 1961, the band had become the Beatles, and McCartney had become the bassist. He and Lennon co-wrote most of the band’s songs, including “Yesterday,” “Hey Jude,” “and “Let It Be.” While the band’s career only lasted a decade, they became the best-selling music act of all time.

After the Beatles broke up, McCartney continued to find success, both as a solo artist and with Wings, the band he and his wife, Linda, formed in 1971. The band enjoyed a string of hits including “Band on the Run,” “Mull of Kintyre,” “Jet,” and “Live and Let Die.” Collaborations with Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson in the ‘80s produced McCartney’s final No. 1 hits. Since then, however, he has continued to release acclaimed albums and fill arenas.
