Orlando is known for its small bars and hosting St. Patrick’s Day events, but no one does it bigger or better than SeaWorld Orlando.
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at SeaWorld for their St. Patrick’s Day Celebration returning from March 17 to March 20, 2022, as part of their Seven Sea Food Festival. Here’s the history of the day what to look forward to as the celebration paints the park green.
The History
Originally from Ireland, St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated every year on March 17, in honor of the death of Saint Patrick.
So how did the holiday spread? A crazy fact is that the first St. Patrick’s Day parade did not take place in Ireland, but America, according to records. Then a century later, Irish soldiers serving in the English military did a march in New York City on March 17, 1772, in honor of Saint Patrick. From there the parades, parties, and celebrations gained popularity in American cities.
How SeaWorld Orlando Celebrates St. Patrick’s Day
Special Drinks
Usually, SeaWorld is known for its unique themed green cocktail called “Luck of the Irish.”
The drink is mixed with Jameson Irish Whiskey and is served at the Glacier Bar and Flamecraft. The best part is it’s typically buy-one-get-one free. Although the drink hasn’t been confirmed yet, it’s a fan favorite, so most likely it will return.
Treats
If you are in the mood for something sweet, head over to Edy’s Ice Cream Parlor for some delicious mint chocolate chip ice cream located next to the Dolphin Nursery.
Other Things to do
Once guests are done tasting what St. Patrick’s Day has to offer, there are still plenty of fun activities to do in the park.
Feel free to enjoy animal experiences like seeing the penguins, diving with dolphins, watching the shows, or dining alongside orcas. Keep in mind that theme parks are normally busy during a holiday, so be sure to arrange accommodations and visit the SeaWorld site to stay updated.
SeaWorld’s Seven Sea Food Festival
This year St. Patrick’s Day at SeaWorld Orlando will be part of the Seven Seas Food Festival.
The food festival consists of outdoor marketplaces that will have flavors from all around the globe. Expect cuisines from Asia, North America, Latin America, Europe, the Polynesian Islands, and more. More than 200 samples of food, brews, wine, seltzers, and cocktails await St. Patrick revelers as well as musical acts playing country, rock, Latin, and the 90s.
