For the twenty-sixth time, Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) comes back to Orlando on select nights from September 16 through October 31, 2016. The streets and attractions of Universal Studios Florida™ transform and come alive with the most terrifying monsters, mutants, and lunatics that have only haunted your nightmares – until now. Immerse yourself in the biggest names in horror this Halloween season.
HHN is an eight-time winner of Amusement Today’s “Best Halloween Event” award, so if you’re planning a trip to Orlando in September or October, this event is not one to miss.
The following information and tips will help you get the most out of your HHN experience.
What’s the theme this year?
2016 is going to be a mashup of every fan favorite from HHNs of the past. Last year, Jack the Clown and his sidekick Chance were the stars of the show. This year Chance will be front and center. Her look will alternate between two distinct styles and mannerisms, and she’ll be seen in her own scare zone and haunted house.
2016 HHN Haunted Houses
Though there is no shortage of scares between the different shows and scare zones throughout the park, the haunted houses are the primary attractions for the event. The following nine houses await you:
- Texas Chain Saw Massacre
- The Exorcist
- The Walking Dead
- Halloween: Hell Comes to Haddonfield
- Krampus
- American Horror Story
- Lunatics Playground 3D—You Won’t Stand a Chance
- Tomb of the Ancients
- Ghost Town: The Curse of Lightning Gulch
Something to Remember
If you’re traveling to Orlando with children under the age of 13, keep in mind that it is recommended they do not attend this event. The sole purpose of HHN is to scare and thrill, so there is no trick-or-treating or characters dressed in cute outfits.
The good news is that during the day, there are no scare-actors, special effects, or other indications of HHN activity other than a few oversized props scattered about the park, meaning that your little ones have nothing to fear while the sun is up.
