Jurassic World VelociCoaster at Universal Orlando Resort’s Islands of Adventure theme park unleashes Florida’s fastest, tallest, and most intense launch coaster ever created, catapulting riders 155 feet into the air at extreme speeds up to 70 mph while racing alongside a ferocious Velociraptor pack, inspired by the blockbuster “Jurassic World” films.
From September 3 through October 31, true terror will once again run rampant through the streets of Universal Studios as it celebrates Halloween Horror Nights 30.
Now in their 30th year, Universal plans to celebrate by providing never-before-seen frights. This year’s event will feature 10 haunted houses, five scare zones, and multiple special attractions. Here’s a look at some of the confirmed 2021 Halloween Horror Nights spectacles as well as some former fan favorites.
New and Popular HHN Haunted Houses
Haunted houses are the paramount attraction at Halloween Horror Nights.
Each year provides a variety of themes based on popular horror films and movies. Universal Studios periodically announces its haunted houses leading up to the event. While only one haunted house theme has been confirmed so far, past years’ themes serve as a testament to what to expect this fall.
Below are a few former HHN haunted houses, as well as what’s in store for 2021:
Based on the 1988 film, Beetlejuice is the first confirmed haunted house for 2021. This house showcases Hollywood’s favorite ghost and some of the movie’s most iconic scenes which guests will walk through and watch come to life. Get ready to be haunted and taunted by Beetlejuice because this house has been confirmed.
The Haunting of Hill House
Welcome home to the Hill House filled with ghastly terrors. Walk down dark hallways and creepy rooms as you slowly make your way to the Red Room. Beware the Tall Man and the Bent-Neck Lady. There’s no place like this home.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre™
If you are not familiar with this famous house, then should you dare enter? This dilapidated house is the home of the sadistic Sawyer family and their famous son, Leatherface. Beware, the roar of his chainsaw may drown out your screams.
Universal Studios has so much more in store for you this year, like seven more houses to test how much you can really handle:
Universal Monsters: The Bride of Frankenstein Lives
HHN Icons: Captured
Welcome to Scarey: Horror in the Heartland
Case Files Unearthed: Legendary Truth
The Wicked Growth: Realm of the Pumpkin
Puppet Theatre: Captive Audience
Revenge of the Tooth Fairy
Haunted houses aren’t the only place you may run into some scares as the entire Universal Studios theme park is divided into special areas designed specifically to spook.
There are five confirmed scare zones at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights. While 2021’s themes have not yet been revealed, scare zones in previous years have proven themselves particularly frightful.
Step inside Crypt TV, a dark universe of monsters that reside in the same reality—on your screen, in your pockets and now San Francisco.
30 Years 30 Fears
The monsters you’ve most dreaded from past Halloween Horror Nights have taken over the streets. They’re back and you’re history.
Seek and Destroy
A ruthless alien cyber regime led by The Controller has taken over New York, turning humans into fuel. Succumb or be destroyed.
Sixteen years after the gory sacrifices of Terra Cruentus, the heartless Terra Queen is back. Evil is in her nature.
Lights, Camera, Hacktion: Eddie’s Revenge
Get ready for the feel-bad movie of the year. Eddie Schmidt, Jack the Clown’s brother, is filming a horror film and the monsters are real.
In addition to the scare zones and haunted houses, Universal has two live shows set for 2021.
Book a Scary Good Hotel Room
The least scary part of your trip to Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights 30 should be your hotel room.

As a Universal Partner Hotel, we are also close to Universal Orlando Resort, Universal CityWalk, and all the popular attractions, restaurants, clubs, and bars on International Drive.

A new live-action stunt show, the Bourne Stuntacular, is waiting to thrill you at Universal Studios Florida. This attraction hopes to herald a new ago of stunt shows as it replaces the Terminator 2 3-D show. As you enter Jason Bourne’s world, your senses will go into overload as you desperately try to separate real live action from cinema magic.
Bringing Down Cyberdyne
Earlier this year, Universal Studios said goodbye to Terminator 2 3-D. This theatrical attraction blended a heavy dose of 3-D movie technology with live action. As the building housing this attraction removed Cyberdyne from the façade (ironically the whole point of the Terminator movies—bring down Cyberdyne), Universal sought to strategically capitalize on wild popularity of the Jason Bourne movie franchise.
An Unexpected Delay
Final development and release of the ride has been prolonged due to the unprecedented global pandemic. At the time of this writing, the park remains closed for the safety of guests and its staff. We hope the park will open soon—when it’s safe. Until then, the Bourne Stuntacular awaits to rise from the ashes of the Terminator 2 3-D attraction.
As Secretive as the CIA
Production has been under tight wraps and as we await the delayed release date. We still don’t know much about this new attraction. The gift shop has been open for a while, but that hasn’t revealed any secrets of the attraction. What we know at this time is that the Bourne Stuntacular blends live action with theatrical magic supported by pyrotechnics and other special effects. NBC Today Show gave us a tiny sneak peek as one of their anchors joined the cast of stunt actors in a massive fight scene. More clues came from a vlogger who recorded the sounds of a test run while he stood next to the exit doors in the gift shop. This tiny hint of what the show could be like included muffled dialogue, sounds of gunfire and explosions, and the motion of the exit doors “exploding” outward at the end of the show.
Rosen Inn International, a Hotel Full of Great Features
As we wait to return to normalcy, we also wait to get back to the things we enjoy. Spring was essentially shut down in Florida and for a good reason. We hope summer will see the return of the fun Florida is best known for, of course, only when it’s deemed safe to get back to life as usual. In the meantime, Rosen Inn International stands by waiting to offer you a safe, affordable place to stay.
Our location can’t be beat: a half a block away from I-4 and minutes away from Universal Orlando Resort. Comfortable accommodations ensure you a relaxing stay. Whenever you’re ready to venture out, we’re ready to book your guestroom. All you have to do is click the button in the upper right of the screen to start your next Orlando vacation.

Holiday of a lifetime
This hotel is perfect for going anywhere in Florida, it is central to all the parks, malls, and being on International Drive it has all the restaurant and bars close at hand. The rooms are of a lovely size with fridge, microwave, coffee machine and safe. The beds were very comfortable and always clean and tidy. The room was spotless.
Once again staying at the Rosen
We have stayed at this hotel literally 15-20 different times from away back when it was the Rodeway and our last trip being in November 2019. It is a great hotel for couples, families, whatever. The staff are great, it is clean and any rooms we have stayed in lead onto an indoor corridor providing extra security. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and have booked my flights for returning to International Drive in November 2020 and will probably stay in the Rosen International.
