If you’re looking for a fun run full of scary surprises, reserve your spot in the 2019 5k Zombie Run Orlando. On November 2, the 5k Zombie Run takes runners and ravaging zombies through two laps on the hiking and bike trails in Bill Frederick Park. Filled with sprints, scares, and some 5k surprises, this race makes participants stay active to stay alive.
Learning the Race Ropes
Every 5k Zombie Run participant receives a t-shirt for participating and a medal for completing the course. There will also be a team of photographers capturing the event so each runner and zombie can keep the memories forever. Even if you can’t make it to the race, you can still participate remotely. Sign up for the virtual run and you’ll receive a t-shirt and medal after race day.
Running the Course
Racerunners wear three flags on their 5k belt, and they must protect them from zombies throughout the course. As you run for your life, your flags will keep track of how much health you have left. But, don’t worry, there are stations set up where you can grab extras and get a second chance at making through the race alive. Even if you lose all of your flags throughout the course, you can still finish the race with the rest of your participating peers.
Terrorizing the 5k
If you’re interested in participating on the other side of the event, you can sign up to be a 5k zombie. Since you’ll have access to special event makeup from the cosmetic team, you’ll need to show up to the event a bit earlier to get prepared and catch a ride to your zombie station. As a member of the 5k zombie hoard, it’s your job to grab runner’s flags and add your own zombie twist.
