This summer the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts is welcoming back a fan favorite, the Harry Potter Film Concert Series. Come experience the magic of watching Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban with a live orchestral accompaniment on June 23rd and 24th.
Pairing a live symphony orchestra with the showing of a movie dates back to 1987. Back then, it was difficult for the orchestra to time their performances with the cadence of the movie, but advances in technology now help conductors keep orchestras on track with the action of the film. The result is an acoustically rich movie experience in which the score steals more of the spotlight than ever before.
In 2014, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts opened its doors with the intent of sharing the arts with people from all walks of life. Finally, we had a place to showcase everything from Broadway hits like the Lion King and the Waitress, to classic ballet performances such as Romeo & Juliet.
Tickets are on sale now at www.drphillipscenter.org starting at only $45. The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts is and easy 15 minute commute from International Drive. For more details about the Harry Potter Film Concert Series, visit www.harrypotterinconcert.com.
