Family-Friendly Holiday Fun in Orlando

If you’re visiting Orlando for a family vacation this holiday season you’ll be happy to know that there are plenty of festive activities for all. Autumn in Orlando is known for gorgeous weather which makes this the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors. Whether you love the sweet and spooky thrills of Halloween or the merriment of Christmas and the winter holidays, you’ll find all sorts of celebrations throughout Orlando. Below are three of our favorite family-friendly events this holiday season in Orlando.

Fall Festival Fun at the Space Coast State Fair

If you’re looking for a fun day trip, consider attending the Space Coast State Fair. It’s located just a half hour away from the Kennedy Space Center, making it the perfect destination if you’ve got any future astronauts or budding scientists in your crew. On the first two nights of the fair you can enjoy special Halloween-themed activities, including trick or treating at all of the fair rides. The fair takes place October 26 – November 11, so you have plenty of time to enjoy the shows, classic rides, and even laser tag. Check out their website for special events on select days including a Puerto Rican Hurricane Relief Day and Veterans Day celebration.

Have a Cup of Cheer at the Holiday Open House

Celebrate the start of the holiday season at Lakeridge Winery’s 28th Annual Holiday Open House on November 9-11th. Bring a blanket and stretch out in the shade while you enjoy live music, food, and games. An arts and crafts fair is the perfect place to find unique holiday gifts that showcase local talents. Of course, the open house also includes a wine and cheese bar as well as complimentary tours of the winery. Remember to bring your photo identification (a valid passport for international guests) so you can sample the delicious wines as you indulge in rustic chic holiday fun.

Discover a Winter Wonderland at the Festival of Trees

If you prefer the indoors and air conditioning, attend the Festival of Trees at the Orlando Museum of Art. The Festival of Trees has been an Orlando tradition for over 32 years delights guests of all ages. This family-friendly festival transforms the museum into a glittering winter wonderland and features not only trees but handmade wreaths, gingerbread villages, tabletop displays, and more. The festival takes place from November 9-18 and features special events on select days. Enjoy breakfast with Santa on November 10 and 17, and let the kids enjoy the magic of the season at the Reindeer Romp Party on November 14.
