Don’t let the swaying palms and rising mercury trick you this autumn in Orlando – there is plenty of fall fun to be had. Whether you want to pick out a pumpkin, shop for souvenirs, or you’d like to watch the game (please and thank you), a fall festival awaits you in Central Florida.
For the Art Lover: Winter Park Autumn Art Festival
If you are looking for a fall festival that’s a bit different than your typical pumpkins and carnival games, look no further. The Winter Park Autumn Art Festival, a juried art show, is sure to delight the artistic types in your group, as well as anyone looking to purchase unique souvenirs. This popular festival has been a fall staple in the Winter Park community for over 45 years and features selected works by many talented local artists. As you stroll through the many artist booths, you’ll also enjoy live music, a beer garden, food vendors, and the kids can enjoy hands-on art projects. Join the artists on October 12-13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on 251 S Park Ave.
For the Beer Enthusiast: Celebration Oktoberfest
A day trip to Celebration, Florida is the perfect addition to your Orlando vacation itinerary. Originally developed by The Walt Disney Company, Celebration’s picturesque community has become well-known for its fall and winter festivals. Their family-friendly autumnal fair, Celebration Oktoberfest, includes a costume contest, face painting, a pumpkin patch, German beer and food, yodeling, bounce houses for the kids, and more. The signature event is the flurry of fall leaves that descend on Market Street at 7, 8, and 9 p.m. every night of the festival. Revel in the colorful leaves in Celebration Town Center this year on October 18-19.
For the Souvenir Shopper: Fall Fiesta in the Park
Twice a year the city of Orlando hosts a Fiesta in the Park at Lake Eola, the home of Orlando’s iconic fountain and swans. Get a jump-start on holiday shopping or find unique souvenirs at this event. During Fall Fiesta in the Park you’ll enjoy local food vendors, shopping at artisan booths for handmade goods, swan boat rides on Lake Eola, swan spotting, live music, and more. Best of all, dogs are welcome at this event so the whole family can join the fun. This year’s Fall Fiesta in the park takes place November 2 – 3.
For the Football Fan: Southern Hill Farms Fall Festival
If, despite Orlando’s trademark warm weather, you find yourself longing for a traditional fall festival, you’ll want to visit Southern Hill Farms in Clermont. Their festival captures the nostalgic magic of autumn and features all the classic fall staples such as apple cider donuts, craft beer, festival rides, a petting zoo, and more. They also have one of the best pumpkin patches in Central Florida, with a broad selection of beautiful pumpkins varieties such as minis, jumbos, tiger stripe, and white. Best of all, the festival has big screen TVs so you don’t have to miss a minute of the game. You can visit the Southern Hill Farms Fall Festival on select weekends this October.
