Spice up your Orlando summer vacation and visit some of these brand new attractions this August. Here’s where you will find us:
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Walt Disney World’s latest addition will also be their largest. Covering 14 acres, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will feature brand-new attractions as guests are immersed in a Star Wars world like never before. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will also be the premiere of Disney’s next iteration in animatronics.
Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run
As one of the most highly-anticipated attractions in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run gives fans the opportunity to step inside the most famous ship in the galaxy. Riders of this attraction become the flight crew for the iconic Millennium Falcon as it makes the eponymous Smuggler’s Run in “the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs.”
NBA Experience at Disney Springs
When Disney shut down DisneyQuest back in 2017 as a part of the transformation from Downtown Disney to Disney Springs, it wasn’t immediately clear what was going to be taking its place. Shortly thereafter, it was announced that the NBA Experience, which had recently left its previous location at Universal CityWalk, would be moving in. The long-awaited attraction finally opens this August, bringing games and basketball challenges to life for all who attend.
Bigfire Grill at Universal CityWalk
The newest full-service restaurant, Bigfire, joins an impressive roster in place at Universal CityWalk. Much like the other uniquely-themed restaurants at CityWalk, Bigfire will lean heavily on design elements to recreate an outdoor ambiance inside the restaurant. The main appeal of the restaurant is the custom grill where chefs whip up foods inspired by cooking over an open campfire.
